At the Baby Dragon Lamp ceramics workshop in Kyiv, you’ll create a functional ceramic lamp by hand, from shaping its base and distinctive details to glazing it in your own style.

What will your dragon look like?

You decide on your dragon’s character: the shape of its face, wings, legs and tail, its texture and decorative details. We’ll make openings in the body so warm light can shine through once the electrical fittings are installed.

How the workshop works

The workshop consists of two classes. The first lasts 4 hours: using a plaster mould, you’ll shape the lamp’s base, make its details, work with volume and relief, and prepare the piece for drying and its first high-temperature firing.

The second class lasts 2 hours and focuses on glazing. You’ll choose a colour palette, learn to combine glazes and bring out the texture. The instructor will help you create the decorative effects you want.

The price includes both classes, professional ceramic clay, glazes, all tools and materials, two high-temperature firings, electrical fittings and instructor guidance at every stage.

Who is the workshop for?

No experience with clay is needed. The workshop is suitable for adults and teenagers. You can work on one lamp alone or together as a pair, making Baby Dragon a lovely choice for a creative date or an activity with someone close to you.

What you’ll take home

After glazing, your dragon will undergo a second firing and be fitted with electrical components. You’ll take home a finished handmade lamp that can serve as a night light, an atmospheric feature in your home or a special gift. Gift certificates for the workshop are also available.
