(Sperm Whale, Humpback Whale, Beluga, or Orca Sculpture)

This workshop will introduce you to several sculptural techniques for working with clay and guide you toward creating an impressive final piece.

Your task will be to create a ceramic whale-shaped lamp, while our instructors, specially developed techniques, forms, and tools will support you at every step to help you achieve a stunning result.

Session 1 — Sculpting

During the first session you will learn to work with slab and coil building techniques, model shapes, decorate surfaces, and properly assemble ceramic elements.

The workshop is structured through a series of short tasks with guidance and feedback, making the process easy to follow while producing an impressive result.

Duration: 4 hours

At the end of the session, you will leave your whale sculpture with us for drying and the first kiln firing.

Session 2 — Glazing

The second session takes place at least one week after the first.

During this class you will glaze your future lamp. We will teach you how to work with ceramic glazes, explain their effects and properties, and help you apply the finishing touches.

Duration: 2 hours

After glazing, your piece will be left for the final kiln firing.
